OUR STORY

19 The Wine Bar

A lovely warm welcome from myself, Tina, my hubby Colin and our fabulous team.

Having built up our experience within the industry though our purchase of ‘The Moon Restaurant’ approximately 18 years ago, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to purchase ‘Burgundy’s Wine Bar and as with the restaurant undergoing a full refurbishment.

As a grade 2 listed building the bar started its life, we believe, as a grain store. Converted to a wine bar by the previous owner back in 1984. Thus, making it the oldest Wine Bar in Kendal. ‘The Wine Bar’ as it is referred to, has a long and happy history with the locals in Kendal.

Our aim is to ‘Go Local’ using as many local businesses as possible, sourcing many of our goods from within Cumbria. Always conscious of our environment we are also trying to mitigate as much waste and ‘plastic’ as possible and recycle wherever we can.

We are aiming to offer you affordable quality, in a relax, friendly and comfortable atmosphere, either for a hearty lunch on our lovely outdoor roof terrace or by partaking of our fine wines, local craft beers, and spirits. whilst nibbling our delicious platters and snacks.

We are passionate about 19 The Wine Bar, so we hope you will be too.

OUR TEAM

Tina Dulson

Owner / Managing Director

I love cycling on our tandem (as it’s the only way I can keep up with Colin, my hubby) Oh and mad about Walking Dead! But seriously when I’m not working with Karl at the bar. Working hard to open ‘Next Door @ 19’ Watch this space…

Colin Dulson

Owner / Finance Director

Not just the maintenance man, honestly! Although I have taken on the role as FD. I’m usually suited and booted and The MD of our business; Berrison, which I’ve done for the last 11yrs. When I’m not doing that you will find me either on my bike or running in the hills.

Karl Smallshaw

General Manager

I feel very fortunate as I love working, especially at The Wine Bar. But when I’m not working, my 14 yr old terrier Mika, whom we nick name ‘The Terrorist’ keeps me busy. It also means I’ve not had a holiday since I’ve had her…wouldn’t have it any other way though!

Stephen Bouskill

IT Consultant

Former assistant manager, now IT consultant. My first love has to be technology, so part of my duties is ‘anything technical’ which means I’ve been involved in redesigning the website, build an online ordering system and reconfigure our tills to suite our needs better.

Booking a table is essential to avoid disappointment!
